ROLAND DG GOES ON THE ROAD TO PROMOTE BENEFITS OF PRINT AND CUT TECHNOLOGY
Jun 30 2014 11:00:19 , 1013

Roland DG (UK) will be making it easier for busy printers, sign-makers and studios to discover the business benefits of its world-leading print and cut technology by participating in a series of roadshows running over the next year.  Organised by Newtech under the banner of The Wide Format Printing, Displays and Finishing Show, the first stop will be Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey, with an afternoon and evening session on Tuesday 8th July from 3pm to 9pm and a morning session from 8am to 2pm on Wednesday 9th July.

Brett Newman, Roland DG Sales and Technical Director says, “We are really excited about being involved in the Newtech roadshows - busy people don’t always have the time to visit our showrooms or our stand at exhibitions so taking our technology solutions on the road will enable people to meet us at a time and place more convenient to them.  By having sessions that start early in the day and also run into the evening, visitors have the option of coming before or after work. Everyone can be sure of a warm welcome and of learning how Roland can help them add profitable new revenue streams to their business.”

The roadshow will see Roland showcase two of its wide format inkjet printer/cutters: its flagship SOLJET PRO4 XR-640 and the world’s bestselling VersaCAMM VS-i series. If versatility and flexibility pave the path to new business opportunities, then these two machines are the way forward for printers looking to open up new market sectors with a range of outdoor and indoor applications. In addition to labels, posters, signs and banners you can quickly and efficiently produce contour-cut window, floor and exhibition graphics, vehicle graphics and wraps, retail point of sale displays, heat transfers for garment decoration and much more. Roland’s integrated print and cut technology maximises productivity by enabling the printing, repositioning and cutting of even the most complex and intricate graphics with great accuracy of detail and a high quality finish; all on the same machine and without the need for manual intervention. This frees the operator up to get on with the next job.  Another major advantage is the potential cost-saving – with an investment in only one machine as opposed to two and only one maintenance contract required.

Joining the print and cut machines on the Roland stand at Sandown Park will be Roland’s VersaUV LEF-20 desktop flatbed printer. The LEF-20 prints onto virtually any object and any substrate up to 100mm thick, turning plain objects into highly profitable personalised items - perfect for creating souvenirs, novelty goods, giftware, consumer items, industrial parts or packaging prototypes.

“Screen printing and pad printing are traditional methods for personalising and customising gifts and other products and these technologies are suited to large production runs. However there has been a growing demand for shorter runs and this is where digital printers, such as the Roland VersaUV LEF-20, can really add value,” says Brett.

The Newtech Wide Format Printing, Displays and Finishing Show is free to attend.  Other exhibitors include Action Illustrated, Ad Colour, Dorotape, Hanolex, Mid West Displays, The Magic Touch, Resolute DTG, Ultima Displays.
