Print and signage provider Brooklyn Graphics joined the masses of rockers at Glastonbury this year with a printed bass drum skin for indie rockers Kasabian. Using its Mimaki CJV30-160 machine with the manufacturer's SS21 ink set, the company created a vibrant pink sheath using Metamark MD5 self-adhesive vinyl.
The print-and-cut model from Mimaki is designed for high-quality, detailed images for a range of applications, including labels, posters and POS displays. The CJV30 prints at speeds of up to 17.5sq m per hour and features Mimaki's Uninterrupted Ink Supply System for fast-drying outdoor durable inks, as well as white and metallic.
Aside from cut vinyl, Brooklyn Graphics uses its CJV30-160 to create branding and logos, signage and in-store graphics.
"We've found the new Mimaki so reliable and easy to use," states Darren Brooks, proprietor of Brooklyn Graphics. "It has enabled us to play on the same stage as some of the 'big boys' in the industry and hopefully win over some more high profile clients."
