Antalis's Olin and Rives paper ranges were chosen for their vintage effect
Flowprint has helped Vintage Playing Cards to expand its product range by providing it with the ability to create its vintage-effect gifts with short-run digital ink-jet printing.
The print house recommended Antalis's Rives Tradition and Olin ranges for its cream and off-white shades, which matched the traditional effect required by Vintage. By printing on a Konica Minolta Bizhub C8000, the company was able to produce shorter run lengths and add personalisation, which in turn added extra value to customers.
"Recreating the vintage feel with a twist of modernity was central to our new range, and with cream and off-white shades being our signature, it was vital that we found a paper that would reflect these qualities", says Allen Perkins, co-founder of Vintage. "The extensive selection of cream, white and off-white shades offered within the Rives Tradition and Olin ranges from Antalis were fantastic enabling us to achieve the exact look we wanted.
"There were a few design and print challenges to overcome," he continues. "One of them was to produce a high density black, which we were unable to achieve through lithographic printing. However, by transferring to a digital print engine, this gave us outstanding results and the very intense black print we were looking for."
