UK DOOH industry joins 'Lights Out' campaign to commemorate WWI

Media owners including Amscreen, BlowUp Media and Elonex Outdoor have collaborated in a campaign to honour the centenary of the start of World War One on outdoor advertising screens across the country.


The project featured a single lit candle against a black backdrop, with the message '1914 We remember', which was displayed between 10pm and 11pm on August 4th.


Other companies involved in the campaign include Forrest Outdoor Media, Maxx Media, Outdoor Plus, Primesight, RedBus Media and Signature Outdoor, while those who were unable to display the message left their screens blank for the hour.


"We are proud to support the initiative as an industry, delivering this message of remembrance to millions of people across the country," states Mike Baker, chief executive of Outdoor Media Centre.
