New dimensions: An example of the work the company hopes to undertake with the new printer
Print house SuperWide Digital has acquired an EFI VUTEk GS3250Lx Pro as it looks to provide a wider range of products and enter new markets.
The 3.2m flat-bed and roll-fed wide-format printer uses EFI's 'cool cure' technology, which enables heat-sensitive substrates to be processed. The unit also processes multi-layer white ink, allowing for over- or under-printing with white.
The company has served the wide-format trade market for 15 years, providing a variety of services to display, exhibition specialists, and offset litho and screen-printers. The new machine is expected to expand its production capabilities as well as address the company's LED energy consumption, with SuperWide estimating that the device will save ?20,000 in enegry costs by the end of this year.
"The UV-LED curing technology was the clincher in the end," comments Luke Drogan, business development manager at SuperWide Digital. "The ability to print onto heat-sensitive materials has proved very important to us since installation, as has the extreme flexibility of the UV-curable inks. The VUTEk GS3250lx Pro will enable us to expand our business into new areas."
