Aug 19 2014 11:38:33 , 1171

The first event of its kind since the merchant moved to a decentralised model; devolving power to the branches by creating eight locally-focussed Commercial Print businesses across the UK; the event will see the group showcase a range of applications produced via digital technology including narrow format, wide format and latex, and present new opportunities for sales growth and additional revenue streams.

Sidney Bobb, Chairman of the BAPC will deliver a keynote address on the first day, sharing his perspective on the future of print, highlighting the role of digital and discussing the challenges this presents for printers.

Currently 72% of printers say they can no longer continue to do things the same way and 49% plan to expand their finishing options in order to offer more services to their customers.* At the PaperlinX event, commercial printers will have the chance to get ahead, with a team of specialists on hand to demonstrate the latest applications and provide information on the growth prospects the Group can offer.

General Manager Colleen Hankin said: “Moving accountability to a local level, closer to the customer, better meets our customers’ needs today, this event is the ideal platform for us to  demonstrate how we have simplified and improved efficiency within our customer sales and service operations and to showcase the expert help and support available to customers at a local level. With so much on offer, this really is a must-attend for all PaperlinX customers.”

The event will also see the launch of PaperlinX’s latest innovation, ColourlinX. With ColourlinX, commercial printers will be able to effectively meet the increased demands from print buyers for consistent colour and high print quality across Litho and Digital printing. As part of the launch, all customers at the event will be offered a free Colour Management Audit, ensuring that proofing, litho and digital presses are printing consistently to the highest ISO12647-2 colour standards.

Attendees will be invited to tour the Group’s warehousing and logistics facility and will be offered the opportunity to attend a free wide format digital printing training course in one of the group’s regional Digital Academies. Normally costing in excess of ?500 per day, training workshops include printer and RIP boot camps, colour calibration, Onyx & EFI advanced training, finishing and proofing and pressroom workflow.
