Fastsigns franchise looks to EFI to boost flat-bed productivity

The H1625 can be used as both a roll-fed and flat-bed device

A Fastsigns franchise based in Gladstone, Missouri has added a 1.6m hybrid H1625 UV-LED engine from EFI. The sign-maker made the decision to upgrade after the manufacturer of its previous hybrid machine discontinued the model's service warranty.

The H1625 will be used to fulfil the company's flat-bed work, which includes a significant number of printing on aluminium and aluminium composites. The inclusion of a permanent white ink channel has removed the need to switch channels in and out, allowing the company to increase its productivity of products such as backlit signs and display graphics.

"The EFI H1625 is faster than our last hybrid printer and it prints more accurately," states Gregg Kruse, co-owner of the Fastsigns Gladstone franchise "I know other franchises that have white ink capabilities on their printers but do not use it because of the time they lose switching to white ink – our new EFI printer solves that problem."

"With its proven, industry-leading UV-LED inkjet imaging technology and its low total cost of ownership, we are confident that the H1625 will prove to be one of the very best hybrid wide-format production options available for Fastsigns franchises and other signage and graphics operations," believes Scott Schinlever, senior vice-president and general manager for EFI Ink-jet Solutions.
