The UKTI is behind the 'Business is Great Britain' campaign to promote UK trade
The EEF has agreed a strategic partnership with UK Government trade body UKTI to work on boosting British exports and attracting more businesses to invest in the country's manufacturing industry.
The Government has a ?1 trillion export target to meet by 2020, which the UKTI is responsible for implementing. The partnership will see the two organisations work together to build partnerships between British and foreign companies and increase awareness of the business support available from the UKTI.
"Improving our export performance is key to helping Britain achieve the better-balanced economy needed to deliver long-term stability and growth," believes Terry Scuoler, chief executive of the EEF. "[The] UKTI has a vital role to play in helping companies to increase their global footprint. We will now work together to ensure that manufacturers are aware of the support it provides in finding new markets overseas, as well as smoothing the way for new exporters."
