The Virginia-based Digital Signage Foundation (DSF) announces it has established the Geri Wolff Scholarship Fund to be earmarked specifically for young women who are committed to majoring in computer sciences as a way to enter the digital signage industry.
The scholarship program will be administered by the DSF’s Education Committee, which will develop the award criteria; evaluate applications annually; allocate funding; and determine award amounts. Awards may be used to defray the cost of university education but may also be allocated to help pay for DSF student membership, or Digital Signage Certified Expert certification offered for students prior to graduation by the Digital Signage Experts Group.
2014 DSF board chairwoman Kim Sarubbi says in a statement that the person the new scholarship is named for, Geri Wolff, is currently the DSF’s director of marketing, communications and membership, and that she was instrumental in the founding of the organization and continues to be proactive in establishing programs that help the digital sign industry grow.
In the statement, Wolff calls the scholarship in her name “an extraordinary honor” and says she encourages others in the digital signage industry to “pay it forward” by pledging a donation to the scholarship.
