Mike Baker is to step down as chief executive of the Outdoor Media Centre (OMC) next year as the trade body looks to reshape itself.
The OMC has brought in Mark Craze, formerly chief executive of Havas Media Group UK, to conduct a wide strategic review of the trade association and its role, as well as suggest potential changes to its position and senior leadership roles.
Baker was instrumental in implementing the rebranding of what was the Outdoor Advertising Association, transforming the OMC into a marketing-led body during his tenure. He has indicated that he will step down in order to concentrate on his start-up, a media directory titled Wossname.
"The outdoor sector is in a great place and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the OMC," he states. "The industry continues to grow its share of display advertising, media owners are investing heavily in the future, and advertisers are finding more reasons to include outdoor media on their media plans."
