Ricoh puts innovation at the fore with new customer experience centre


Ricoh has officially opened its customer experience centre in Telford, UK, a hub for customers to inspect and test the breadth of the manufacturer's range. Among the products that will be made available for visitors are the Ricoh Pro VC60000 and C7100X devices, both released in September this year, as well as recent software launches including TotalFlow BatchBuilder.


Russell Press looks for efficiencies with new binder purchase


The Russell Press, a low-cost printing service for charities, campaigns and social initiatives, has invested in a CP Bourg 3002 binder from Terry Cooper Services in order to improve its in-house finishing capabilities. The binder was selected due to its low energy consumption rate, in line with the company's ISO14001 accreditation.


FESPA buoyant ahead of space-themed exhibition


FESPA has announced that it has already matched exhibitor booking rates for its 2013 exhibiton at the ExCel, as it prepares for its 2015 edition. The trade show will again incorporate sectors such as screen-printing, textiles and digital ink-jet, while sign-making will be represented in the form of European Sign Expo.


New Horizon for Kube Print as it aims to respond to changing customer tastes


Kube Print, which specialises in financial print jobs, had invested ?400,000 in a BQ470 Horizon four-clamp perfect binder from IFS, in order to both meet increasing demand for short-run digital ink-jet work from the sector and have litho binding capabilities on site for the first time.


Co-hosted event kick-starts Zünd's new showroom


Zünd had re-opened its demonstration suite in St Albans, UK, following a launch event co-hosted by Canon. As well as the finishing manufacturer's modular digital cutter portfolio, guests were invited to see Canon's Océ ColorWave 650 and Océ Arizona UV-curable flat-bed, as part of a complete print workflow. Aside from the new machinery, the redesigned showrooms include meeting rooms for software demonstrations.


Wizards, samurai and behawked knights: Printing Charity calendar released


The Printing Charity has released its 2015 calendar, featuring a host of the great and the good from the industry, at an event held at St Bride Foundation, London.


The models, which this year includes representatives from Duplo, Renz, Kodak, BPIF and the Output editorial staff, had their faces photoshopped onto historical and mythical figures to demonstrate 'the power of print'.

Plastic Logic scoops innovation prize at Global OLED Congress


Plastic Logic has seen its flexible plastic AmoLED digital displays recognised, securing the OLED Innovation Excellence award at the Global OLED Congress. Based on the manufacturer's organic thin-film transistor (OFTF) array, the display can be moulded, shaped or bent to a radius of 0.75mm. It is reportedly small enough to wrap around a pen and still function.


New Paris home for MultiTouch with showroom launch


MultiTouch has opened a new French showroom in La Défense, Paris, in order to establish a stronger presence in the European market. The centre will include the company's 4 x 2.5m MultiTaction iWall, and is based at seminar specialist Ch?teauform's City Le Cnit premises.

Mood Media has continued the rapid expansion of its Presence location-based marketing technology, bringing the signalling software to another 100,000 sites in the USA. The platform aims to let brands connect more easily with shoppers by enabling mobile interaction with advertising.


Screens in Seattle: TransitScreen unveils first display in the city


TransitScreen has completed its move into Seattle, with an official ceremony to herald the installation of its first transport display in the city. The company has signed a contract with the Seattle department of transport, which will see it initially supply ten screens to the city's downtown area.


SIS Digital project brings DOOH to Brighton commuters


SIS Digital has completed its first DOOH project in Brighton with the installation of Brighton SmartScreen, a 5,500 Nits Philips Showall featuring ten LED panels. The display had to be as lightweight as possible and viewable in broad daylight, due to its location on the side of a building in Queens Road, next to the main station.
