Large-format printer manufacturer Mutoh is offering a G7 digital inkjet training course at its Phoenix, Arizona headquarters November 18-20.
The program, which offers a blend of lab instruction and lecture on how to apply the G7 method on both offset and digital presses, will be demonstrated with Mutoh’s G7-certified ValueJet 1624 and 1638X Eco-solvent printers as well as Mutoh’s new ValueJet UV-LED printers.
The instructor will be Don Hutcheson, who has more than 40 years experience in photography, design, prepress, printing and color science. Hutcheson has pioneered many techniques that are now taken for granted, including RGB workflows, soft proofing, extended-gamut printing and digital proofing. In 2006, he used his own Proof-to-Press calibration method – which today carries the trademark “G7” – to produce the current GRACoL and SWOP data sets.
