Israel-based 3D printer company Massivit 3D Printing Technologiesannounces the first installation of its new super-sized (three cubic meter) large-format 3D printer, the Massivit 1800. According to the company, the printer’s output speeds are super-fast and comparable to any other 3D printer on the market.

With printing dimensions of 4' x 5' x 6', the unit offers print speeds are 39 inches per second; and the printer can produce up to one foot of print object per hour. It also has dual printing capabilities.

The printer was installed at Israeli print shop ES Digital. According to Massivit, the printer was designed for large format print providers and the visual communications markets they serve.

The 1800 can be used to make point-of-purchase items; exhibition displays; specialty and personalized decoration for events; and window backdrops, among other things.

The company says that at the heart of its 1800 is its proprietary Gel Dispensing Printing technology. The GDP is comprised of a special printing gel, sensitive to a specific UV wave and a printing and curing engine through which the material is dispensed to create the figures. The printing & curing engine allows for Massivit special printing gel instant solidification and high-speed printing.
