Long Beach, California-based Epson announces that it is once again the paper and print partner of the Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International Awards exhibition being held at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
It’s the fourth straight year that Epson has been a sponsor of the event, which showcases the finest in nature photography from around the globe. Epson will be producing more than 100 large-format prints that will be on display starting Oct. 24 on the second floor of the museum. The display will hang there through next September.
This year’s Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International Awards exhibit is special because it’s the 20th anniversary. The images displayed, along with HD videos available for viewing, were chosen from more than 500,000 images submitted over the past two decades.
The sizes of the images range from 2 feet to more than 5 feet.
“Within every photograph there is a story to be revealed, an experience to be shared, and a legacy to be left by the photographer for the public enjoyment and inspiration,” says Steve Freligh, director of the awards. “This year’s collection represents the best of the best – an intense photo gallery showcasing 20 years of extraordinary images and the stories they tell. This may very well be Epson’s finest work in matching print reproduction with the deep passion from men and women in the field.”
Epson printed the images using its new 44-inch wide Epson SureColor P9000 printer, which features the Epson PrecisionCore TFP printhead and the Epson UltraChrome HDX 10-color ink set. They are printed on Epson Professional Papers.
The Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice Awards competition is open to the public and photographers at all levels of expertise – amateurs, pros and youths. For more information or to view past winners, visitwww.naturesbestphotography.com.
