UV LEDs Spotlighted at Sold-Out Industry Conference
Nov 09 2015 08:50:44 , 1069
Bethesda, MD - RadTech, in partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), were hosts for a "sold out" conference and exhibition devoted to UV (ultraviolet) LEDs, October 28-29 in Troy, NY. Building on the growth of ultraviolet and electron beam curing processes, the event brought together chemistry developers, equipment makers, academia, government representatives and manufacturers to examine opportunities for the further development and use of industrial UV LEDs.

“UV LEDs are rapidly emerging as a breakthrough manufacturing technology,” says Peter Weissman, of Quaker Chemical Corp., and President of RadTech. “Industry events such as these are vital to U.S. industrial efforts to learn about new enabling processes that will help companies become more efficient, environmentally responsible, and competitive.” With standing room only sessions, a sold out exhibition area, and a tour of the Rensselaer Polytech Institute Polymer Lab and Smart Lighting Energy Research Labs, the event was designed to provide an overview and outlook for the market and technology for UV LEDs.

The use of ultraviolet light and electron beams are well established and widely used processes across the spectrum of manufacturing, including 3d printing, aerospace, automotive, electronics, wood and building products and  printing and packaging. The next conference devoted to the technology is RadTech 2016, www.radtech2016.com
