Products made by Spencer, Massachusetts-based FLEXcon, a maker of manufacturer of pressure-sensitive film products, was used to brand the exterior of AT&T Stadium, site of the 2015 Cotton Bowl Classic.
FLEXcon worked with E.H. Teasley & Co./Inkjet International, a custom printer for both indoor and outdoor advertising, to develop a solution for printing a large-scale advertisement for the event.
Teasley Co. wrapped the large doors and windows in both stadium end zones—a total of more than 16,000 square feet—with an image of the game’s logo and additional sponsor elements. FLEXcon’s SEETHRUSIGN perforated film with an optically clear overlaminate was used in the project.
FLEXcon says the job posed several challenges: the sheer scale of the graphic, the fact that it needed to be installed and then taken down within a short time window, and that it needed to be transparent without being washed out by the sun and stadium lights.
The 80th Cotton Bowl Classic pitted the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Michigan State Spartans, with ’Bama clobbering the Spartans 38-0.
