SGP Says Recertification Rate Remains High
May 23 2016 09:22:25 , 1251

The Sayville, New York-based Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, a nonprofit that provides sustainability certification in the graphics communication industry, says that it is continuing to see high re-certification rates for the certified print community. Many SGP facilities have maintained certification for a number of years. In the first quarter of 2016, the following companies have been re-certified.

  • Global Packaging, Oaks, Pennsylvania, first certified 2011
  • Miller Zell, Atlanta, Georgia, first certified 2012
  • Minuteman Press, Lawrence, Kansas, first certified 2009
  • Modernistic, Stillwater, Minnesota, first certified 2010
  • Navitor, N Mankato, Minnesota, first certified 2011
  • Premier Press, Portland, Oregon, first certified 2011

SGP printers are required to be re-certified every two years. This involves meeting the current SGP criteria and passing an on-site audit. A number of these facilities have been certified since the early days of the SGP program, but because of the value they see in continuous improvement and maintaining certification, they they have been re-certified a number of times, the organization says.
