Rowmark Holds Annual United Way Day to Benefit Local Community

Findlay, Ohio-based engraving substrate manufacturer Rowmark LLCrecently held its annual United Way Day in conjunction with fundraising efforts by its local United Way of Hancock County.

In the days leading up to the event, Rowmark employees sold raffle tickets and hosted an online auction with items donated by its vendors. According to Rowmark marketing coordinator Sarah Rase, all proceeds were donated to the charity.

The entire company gathered together to hear from United Way representatives. Employees also heard a recovering heroin addict’s story, and how he was able to turn his life around with help from Hope House, a local agency funded by United Way. The day also featured a spirited live auction and hosted Carolyn Stern, a corporate coach and trainer, who spoke to the group about how emotional intelligence can help individuals grow into better employees and leaders.

Dating back to 1999, Rowmark’s United Way Day has been held annually to give back to its local community.

“We recognize that we are fortunate to have good jobs and we think it’s important to help our neighbors who are less fortunate,” Rase says. “In doing so, we make our community a better place to live and work for everyone.”

United Way Day is just one of the ways that Rowmark participates in local charitable opportunities, she says. Shortly after that day, Rowmark entered a team in Findlay’s 4th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to benefit breast cancer research and services. The company was also a major sponsor of Uncorked & Unplugged, a fundraiser benefitting Children’s Mentoring Connection, a mentor and tutoring organization, held in early October. Rowmark will also be contributing to an upcoming fashion show to benefit the American Cancer Society.
