Cambridge, UK-based industrial inkjet printhead manufacturer Xaarannounces the appointment of Lily Liu as its chief financial officer, company secretary and director of the board.
Liu has spent the past four years at Smiths Group PLC, where she has held a number of senior financial and management roles. Most recently, from 2014 to 2016, Liu was CFO of the Smiths Detection Division, with reported revenues of £526 million—or approximately $656 million—for fiscal year 2016. Before that position Liu was director of financial planning and performance analysis at the Group level, reporting to the Group chief financial officer.
From 2005 to 2012 and before joining Smiths, Liu was with Edwards Ltd. Edwards, a world leader in the manufacture and supply of industrial vacuum systems, was part of the Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 BOC Group Plc until 2007, when it was acquired by private equity firm, CCMP. In 2012, Edwards had revenues of more than £500 million—approximately $624 million—and listed on the Nasdaq exchange. From 2007 to 2012, Liu was the company’s finance director for global operations, reporting to the Group chief financial officer. Prior to that Liu held a number of other finance and management roles across the Edwards business and in the BOC Group.
