UV+EB Technology for Automotive Session at SAE WCX17 a Success
Apr 11 2017 11:01:07 , 1085
With a full room for every presentation, RadTech members presented the latest on ultraviolet and electron beam technologies (UV+EB) at SAE WCX17, the Society of Automotive Engineers’ World Congress, in Detroit.

The event, planned by the SAE Polymers and Coatings Committee / Materials Engineering Activity, and chaired by Christopher Seubert, Ford Motor Company, and Mary Ellen Rosenberger, BaySpring Solutions LLC, focused on the development of novel materials, processes and facilities that are significantly advancing the efforts of energy reduction and vehicle lightweighting. The use of UV+EB curing technology results in improvements in reduced GHG emissions, manufacturing Cycle Time, small-footprint manufacturing, speedy prototype development and additive manufacturing, all creating a revolution in manufacturing.

Session presentations included the application of UV+EB in 3D Printing, Automotive Displays, Hardcoats, PVD, and enhanced corrosion performance.

As the nonprofit trade association for UV+EB Technology, RadTech is engaging the automotive industry by providing information on the operational, efficiency and environmental benefits of the technology.
