Norway's Kai Hansen Trykkeri installs a brand-new eight-color ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION press
"The monster" is the name that Norwegian printing pioneer Kai Hansen Trykkeri has given to its newly installed eight-color ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION press.
The enormous capacity of the press has greatly impressed Kai Han-sen executives and operators.
Fifty years of experience in the printing industry has taught Kai Hansen that it's extremely important for the company to continuously develop and apply new printing technologies, says owner Mr. Torfinn Hansen. "With the most advanced printing technologies in the world, we are able to meet the customers’ strict demands on the print products by our cost-effective, high-quality solutions."
Kai Hansen has an extensive product range. ”We just basically print everything," Mr. Hansen says proudly. "You name it, we could print it.”
He is not exaggerating. The company produces a wide variety of products, such as magazines, books (hardcover and softcover), pamphlets, leaflets, brochures, labels, flyers, envelopes, binders, catalogs, signs, calendars, notepads and pro-motional items.
Because “good customer experience is essential to us,” the company makes it a point to meet even the tightest deadlines and deliver print products on short notice, Mr. Hansen says.
Kai Hansen also tries to bring added value to customers by turning out products with print effects such as foil, embossing, varnish and punching.
Two presses -- a ten-color ROLAND 700 and a eight-color ROLAND 700 -- have been running smoothly through the years at Kai Hansen's production plant. Together they have contributed a lot to providing the best customer experience, says Mr. Hansen.
“Our daily three-shift operation gives us great flexibility in terms of short lead time, but obviously our highly productive ROLAND presses have played a vital role here,” the owner adds.
The ROLAND 708 EVOLUTION has a printing speed of up to 18,100 sheets/hour. Because of the phenomenal capacity of the new press, Mr. Hansen says, they are able to go down from two presses to one in three shifts.
“Now could you see why we call the ROLAND 708 EVOLUTION ‘the monster’?” he says.
'The monster' was unveiled at Kai Hansen's facility in a ceremony attended by the City Mayor of Stavanger.
With the new press in full production mode, Kai Hansen Trykkeri is better equipped to provide an even better customer experience.
