Jun 04 2018 09:45:54 , 1442

St Albans –  The Zünd team has completed another successful event – the FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin – with another EDP Award to add to its collection.

Zünd's Over Cutter Camera (OCC) took the prize for Best Finishing Support Tool in the Finishing/Enhancement category, fending off competition from several other manufacturers. Taking place during FESPA (May 15th to 18th 2018), the EDP Association's annual awards evening recognises the very best technological developments of the past year. Focusing on quality, cost and achievement, the winners are selected by the neutral EDP Technical Committee.

The Over Cutter Camera is innovative technology for significantly increasing cutting productivity. Fitted above the centre of the cutting bed on a Zünd digital finishing table, the optics system captures every register mark within the working area in a single image – automatically, in seconds – for data analysing by the fully supported Zünd Cut Center (ZCC) software. Any distortions are compensated for, decreasing production times and minimising user intervention. It's fast, powerful and compatible with a vast range of material types and thicknesses.

During the FESPA show, the OCC and ZCC software were just some of the innovations on display across the Messe Berlin. In total, Zünd representatives participated in six separate spaces including in the Trend Theatre, in the Digital Corrugated Experience area, and on the stands of Kornit, Dover Digital Printing and HP.

At Zünd's own buzzing stand, print professionals from across the world were able to see the Zünd G3 3XL-3200 digital flatbed cutting system fitted with the LM 100W Cut and Seal Laser Module designed for one-step textile finishing, the double-beamed Zünd D3 with a Board Handling System (BHS) processing large-format rigid substrates as part of an integrated workflow, and the RM-L router spindle processing hard sign-making materials such as wood and acrylics with up to 3.6kW of routing power.

Ian Guest from Zünd UK Ltd comments: "We at Zünd are delighted to have won another EDP Award for our finishing technology. Best Finishing Support Tool is a prestigious prize awarded by specialists in their field, who recognised the enormous productivity potential for this system in a wide variety of printing environments.

"The FESPA Global Print Expo was itself another fantastic event, with our team from St Albans guiding delegates through the selection of market-leading digital cutting technology on show. With so many systems and modules on display there was a lot to see, with many visitors surely heading home with an insight into how to increase the productivity of their businesses."
