Roland DG, the Japan-based printer manufacturer with facilities throughout the world, announces the renewal of its longstanding partnership with UK’s historic Granthams, a supplier to the sign and graphics industry for more than 100 years.
Under the agreement, Granthams will be a supplier for Roland’s TrueVIS large-format printer/cutter machines. Along with Roland’s SOLJET Pro 4 XR-640 inkjet printer/cutter and the Roland TrueVIS SG inkjet printer/cutter duo, Granthams will now supply the award-winning Roland TrueVIS VG2 solutions.
“Granthams has had a very long history with Roland and we feel the TrueVIS VG2 will complement our premium range, helping to ensure that our customers can make the best decision when investing in outdoor-durable options,” says Kirsty Reader, general manager at Granthams.
Based in Preston, in northwestern England, Granthams’ history dates back to 1890, when William Granthamfounded a sign-writing business in Blackpool. According to Roland, in the next 120 years the company expanded to become a pioneer in sign-making technology, backing the 20th century’s biggest innovations such as Perspex, Apple computer graphics systems and the first solvent printers to hit the UK market. Its partnership with Roland helped usher in the era of digital inkjet printing to the UK.
In a blog post announcing the refreshed relationship with Roland, Granthams says: “Roland has been here since the birth of our inkjet industry and more importantly, has kept itself relevant and at the cutting edge for well over 20 years. We can’t wait to get to know new and existing Roland users as we start our journey with them and look forward to what’s next from this technological trailblazer.”
